The Time Warp Tea Room

The Time Warp Tea Room at 1209 North Central is owned by Daniel P. Moriarty.  He opened the tearoom & coffee shop in October, 2002, after using the building for many years to store coin-operated machines that he maintains for area businesses.  The Tea Room is a place like no other in the world, offering a selection of beverages and foods in a decor of antiques and motorcycle memorabilia.  Where else can one play a 40-year old pinball machine amidst walls covered with 1980's Cycle News?

To quench your thirst, the Tea Room has a gamut of drink selections, including gourmet coffee, tea, chai, hot chocolate, and smoothies. To go along with your beverage consider enjoying a bagel or pastry. You can also get homemade cookies, tea cakes, and brownies. For more substantial offerings, there are homemade soups, chili, and a full house chili/tamale combo that you can eat while you watch motorcycle-oriented classic movies or races on the big screen television. If the day is warm, enjoy your treats on the back deck. Smoking is allowed on the deck and in the game room, which has pool tables, ancient video and pinball games, and a jukebox. Original live music is featured on weekend nights.  Off-street parking is available in the rear.

The Tea Room is currently open from 11:00 AM until 9:30 PM Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the doors open at 11:00 AM and close when the music act is finished (usually 11:00 PM). For a schedule of bands playing at the Time Warp Tea Room, go to Call ahead at 524-1155 and you can pick up your order packed and ready to go. You can also reserve their largest table for meetings and events.
